About the destination: Göcek is a small town in Fethiye in Muğla Province. It is located between Fethiye and Dalyan. During the Ottoman period, Göcek was a harbour for ships loading chrome collected from the mines under nearby mountains. Today, Göcek hosts six significant marinas serving yacht tourism in the region: Club Marina, Skopea Marina, Municipality Marinas, Marinturk Göcek Village Port, Marinturk Göcek Exclusive, and D-Marin Gocek. Owing to its location, the town has a high potential for yacht tourism. Since 1988, multi-storey buildings are forbidden when Göcek was declared a Registered Area of Special Protection. Göcek serves many types of accommodation facilities for its tourists, such as storeyed hotels, motels, apartment hotels, and pensions situated in the town centre and its periphery. Göcek is one of the quietest and peaceful areas in Turkey, even with all the necessary infrastructure, capacity, and amenities expected in a tourism centre. The harbour is quiet and safe due to the secluded bay, especially for long-distance travellers arriving from international waters. Göcek coves and 12 islands are known as a hidden paradise, with clean Mediterranean water, green pine forests, and beaches.
