Situated on the banks of the river Yamuna and in the northern part of the country, Delhi is the capital city of India and the home of the Government. Delhi has inherited an astonishing number of magnificent monuments from various architectural periods and it's a delight to wander around this captivating metropolis. However, the main tourist attractions not to be missed are the Red Fort, Humayun's Tomb, the Qutub complex, the National Museum, the largest mosque in India Jama Masjid, the India Gate, Gandhi Smriti, Lodi Gardens and the Lotus Temple. Mysterious and enchanting, Delhi is today a bustling cosmopolitan city with trendy lounge bars, themed restaurants, nice shops and everything you would expect from a modern capital city. Delhi is a city of the present and future, but it is deeply rooted in history and has a lot to show for it.
