Maastricht is a Dutch city located on both sides of the Meuse River, at the southernmost point of the Netherlands and serves as the capital of the Limburg province. One of the most captivating attractions in the town is the tour of the ancient city fortifications, known as vestgingsweken. The city boasts two beautiful squares, Vrijthof and Makt. You can also visit the gothic-style Church of Saint Servatius, built over the tomb of Saint Servatius, an Armenian missionary who died in Maastricht. The church is situated on the Vrijthof. Makt Square houses the town hall and hosts markets on Wednesdays and Fridays. Maastricht is undoubtedly a very charming and ideal city for family visits.
