Korčula Croatia

Korčula is an island in the Adriatic Sea, located in Croatia’s Dubrovnik-Neretva County. It is the second most populous Adriatic island after Krk. There is a wide range of activities to enjoy on Korčula. The island’s beaches offer gorgeous views of the karst coastal ranges, and you can also see the nearby coastal village of Orebić. Korčula has two sandy beaches just east of the village of Lumbarda, one on the north coast and one on the south coast at the narrowest point of the island. The Korkyra Baroque Festival is a relatively new annual international event that showcases some of the world’s leading Baroque ensembles and soloists. Twelve concerts are held over ten days, along with a series of supporting events focused on Baroque music. In addition to the festival’s high artistic caliber, the event highlights the richness of Korčula’s cultural monuments and promotes the town as a unique architectural treasure. Korčula also offers options for visitors seeking more active pursuits. Beyond two nightclubs, tourists can experience the island’s traditional Sword Dance, in which performers stage a historical battle with intricate choreography. Local shops also offer bike rentals for those who wish to explore the island more independently.
